Muhtasham Kashani

Muhtasham Kashani (1500-1588) (محتشم کاشانی) is an Iranian poet who lived in the time of Safavid time and had an influence on Persian and Day of Ashura poetry. He was born in Kashan and died there. Mohtasham Kaashaani (Kamāl-al-Din Mohtasham Kāšāni, Persian: محتشم کاشانی, also known as Šams-al-šoʿarā) (1528–1588) was a Persian poet of Safavid’s period. He is mainly known by his elegy on martyrdom of Imam Hossein and his family.
